Do you want to make a real difference to someone in your community?

We are looking for two female* workers to work on a set pattern, three evenings one week and four evenings the next. You would be working from 20:45 – 21:45 to support a young woman with mobility requirements and personal care support needs.  You would work alongside another member of staff to help her prepare for bedtime, so manual handling is necessary. You will receive paid training for this and other aspects of the job.

We are looking for friendly and caring individuals to help this young woman maintain her independence in her own flat and enjoy her life to the full.

Training and other learning opportunities will be available to the right applicants.

We are looking for support workers who share The Action Group’s values and who are great communicators.  The ideal candidate would be patient and practical, and also have a sense of fun. You need to be energetic, creative and have great attention to detail.

  • Location: Gilmerton area – EH17
  • Shift: 3-4 hours per week (if you would like to work more hours, please indicate this in your application). 
  • Salary: £10.02 – £10.42* per hour, depending on qualifications (*this applies from 1 December 2021).
  • This role does not include sleepover shifts.

No experience or formal qualifications are necessary as paid training is provided, but some experience of providing care or support would be an advantage.
