Falkirk – casual support worker vacancy
We need support workers to work on a casual basis, supporting young people and adults at monthly groups in Falkirk. Being a casual worker means you work when you are available, but your are not committed to regular hours.
Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of people with support needs?
Support workers work with people who have learning disabilities or other support needs such as autism, helping them to live independently, pursue their goals and enrich their opportunities. The Action Group runs two weekend groups a month in Falkirk: one of the groups is for young people, and the other for people over the age of 21. We also occasionally go away for a weekend.
Candidates for this role must be great communicators and problem solvers, and be fully committed to the Action Group’s values of equality, inclusion and opportunity for all. Many of our support workers go on to complete formal qualifications in social care as they develop their professional skills, or do support work while they study. If you are looking to work more hours, there may be an opportunity to take on shifts during the week as well.
While experience in a similar role would be helpful, it is not a requirement, and paid training is provided.
Casual support workers are paid £9.00 per hour.
